Of course the most important thing to remember is the subject of the painting, you should always try to choose a painting that will appeal to a wide variety of people, you need to be very careful of paintings that can be offensive to some people. Location You need to consider the location of the hotel when deciding how to decorate it, let's say for instance that your hotel is located in a small mountain city famous for their amazing ski slopes, then you need to make sure you design the hotel in a way that it allows for people to walk through the hotel with wet boots and clothes, however if you are creating a hotel in Miami you would need to be prepared for people to walk through the hotel with sand on their shoes.
